Summary
Plans, organizes, and leads technical work related to design automation engineering activities. The automation engineer is responsible for the creation and maintenance of all documentation associated with design automation efforts and tasks. The design automation engineer will lead and assist design automation projects from creation, through validation, and sustainment.

Skills and Abilities
- 3D CAD experience. SolidWorks preferred.
- Design for manufacturability.
- Boolean logic experience.
- DriveWorks software experience a plus.
- Able to provide engineering support for products through all phases of development.
- Able to effectively make decisions in matters of significance to the customer experience.
- Experience working within a product development process.
- Able to define and communicate new product concepts.
- Able to test and validate products for quality purposes.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Knowledge or experience with continuous improvement method.
- Understanding of casework, sheet metal, machining, and plastic manufacturing processes.
- Ability to develop and maintain procedures and process that support business requirements.
- Able to interface with others in the organization and customers to determine customer driven solutions.
- Effective written and oral communication to support, execute, and document project activities.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in product and part design.
- Technical degree preferred but not required.
- Proficient with SolidWorks.
- Experience with Boolean logic.
- Sound problem solving skills.
- Must have good communication skills both written and verbal with all facets of the organization.
- Strong ability to manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities.
- Proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office programs.
