We are seeking a Controller to take on a critical role in managing day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and budget oversight for the company. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance, with a proven ability to think strategically, lead teams, and drive results. You will supervise a team of two direct reports and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with industry regulations.

Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance and support to two direct reports.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the company’s general ledger, financial data, and reporting.
  • Manage the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with internally developed procedures, budgets and guidelines.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of all aspects of the company’s payroll through a 3rd party payroll provider.
  • Coordinate and manage the company’s external financial review & tax filing processes through an outside CPA firm.
  • Review and improve internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Assist senior management with financial modeling, cost analysis, and business performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement financial reporting tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve financial performance.

Critical Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting and finance experience.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Solid understanding of financial modeling, cost accounting, and performance metrics
